Step One
The first step in creating a "Words and Weavings" is to hand letter the verse onto watercolor paper which has been painted and lined.
Step Two
Next, the strips are cut and woven into cotton fibers on a loom.
Step Three
The completed weavings are mounted onto a colorful paper and a layer of foamcore with threads that are knotted on the back of the piece.
Step Four
Many of the weavings are decorated with original work of ink and watercolor.
Step Five
Pieces to be framed are presented in a natural ash wood shadowbox.
